Finished to Proof standard and colour printed on sterling silver, Emma Noble’s design captures the magic in Beatrix’s original illustration. One of these mice is featured on the center of the coin, happily reading a newspaper while sitting cross-legged on a reel of ‘twist’. Fortunately, because he had freed the mice that were trapped by his cat earlier, the mice decide to help him, creating a waistcoat that brings the tailor great wealth. While working on a waistcoat commissioned by the mayor for his wedding, the tailor falls ill and fears that he will be unable to finish in time.
He’s only a supporting character in a setting where some helpful mice and a grumpy cat create the plot.
Despite the title, Beatrix Potter’s third story, ‘The Tailor of Gloucester’, is not directly about the tailor.
